What program can I use to export songs from my iPod back to iTunes?

A guy at the Apple store said your not supposed to be able to copy or export songs from your iPod to iTunes on your computer but there are "outside" programs that will.What are they? What I want to do is...Get a new iPod with more storage and transfer what I have on my old iPod to iTunes so I can put them on a new iPod.

First install itunes on every computer! remember the FIRST one you sunced it with automatically will be the MASTER computer. then start itunes on the next computer and connect the ipod to the USB when it says not linked to this computer ... 3. The easiest method is to download Ephpod, a free iPod utility that is much like iTunes. Ephpod allows the export of mp3 files to your hard drive without restrictions unlike iTunes. Another way is to allow the iPod to be mounted as a hard drive with Music Match and then find the directory on the iPod that contains a large set of folders. In the subfolders are strange files with mp3 extensions. These can be dragged to the hard drive and imported into your favorite media player but this method will not have meaningful file names so using Ephpod is recommended
4. Three words, Tansee Iphone Transfer, I use it anytime I need to transfer music back to my computer, It is very easy. It costs money but its worth it, especially with a computer crash, I didnt have to re-download all my music. Its a life saver. You can find it for free on a place like mininova or something though.
