How easy is it to obtain a Dubai job and work permit?

I'm a Canadian and my partner is Zimbabwean. We'd like to live together in Dubai and we've heard that it's relatively easy to get a job teaching english or in the toursim sector in Dubai. Does anyone know if the process to do this is ridiculous and lengthy like Canada or is it relatively simple. Any advice welcome. Thanks.

2. I would think you have the best chance in tourism. There are many new hotels being build and they have trouble recruiting enough staff. The process is easy and can be quick. Anybody can apply online for a job vacancy and if you are hired the employer has to arrange your residence visa. Good Luck
3. To be honest, in Dubai, it depends on the qualifications you have, the languages you speak and the job you're going for.
